Laying the 1era stone: a new chapter for our campus in Lyon ;

Wednesday 10 December 2025 marked an important milestone for our engineering school: the laying of the foundation stone for the future building of the Lyon campus, a major project that will support the growth of the establishment.

Alongside Philippe GRUAT, Chairman of BUILDERS Ecole d'Ingénieurs, and Lucie Destouet, Director of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes campus of BUILDERS Ecole d'Ingénieurs: Catherine Staron, Vice-Chairwoman responsible for Lycées, Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Hélène Geoffroy, Mayor of BUILDERS Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, and Philippe GRUAT, Chairman of BUILDERS Ecole d'Ingénieurs, and Lucie Destouet, Director of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes campus of BUILDERS Ecole d'Ingénieurs. Vaulx-en-Velin and 6th Vice-President of the Lyon Metropolitan Area, David Poulain Director of the Lyon agency LEON GROSSE, and Sylvain Molon, Architect and Senior Associate at Patriarche, were on hand to officially celebrate the start of construction.

A building to serve students and the education of tomorrow

Designed to accommodate 550 students in 2032, the new building meets both the school's current needs and the challenges of the 21st century. training for sustainable construction engineers of tomorrow.

Construction is scheduled for completion in April 2027. In September 2027, the classes will be able to move into these spaces, designed to promote learning and well-being, thanks to a modern, green campus conducive to concentration and innovation.

What's more, from 2026 the campus will benefit from the new T9 tramway line linking the campus to the rest of Europe. Vaulx-en-Velin, and Lyon to the other campuses for optimum comfort and easier mobility.

A sustainable and exemplary building

True to its values of training responsible engineers, the school has incorporated a sustainable construction approach into this project, using sustainable materials (local wood, low-carbon concrete, recycled elements).

A growing campus, a stronger community.

The laying of the foundation stone symbolises much more than the start of the building work; it also embodies the evolution of BUILDERS Ecole d'Ingénieurs. The new building will be part of a quality approach that meets the growing needs of local companies for engineers trained in the challenges of sustainable construction, and is recognised for the quality of its training and support for its students.
