FormLab is an innovative project run by BUILDERS Campus Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, which is piloting action no. 2 Chantier-École. This unique scheme in AURA region aims to transform training in construction engineering through immersive and collaborative teaching methods.

The project is based on the region's major renovation and construction projects vaudais, It encourages learning in real-life conditions. It brings together different audiences:
- Pupils, students and apprentices
- Employees and jobseekers undergoing retraining
- Contractors, from CAP level to architect-engineer level
Thanks to this approach, FormLab develops training courses based on technical skills in the building and public works sector, while integrating the collaborative work and methods of Lean Construction.
In conjunction with the members of the FormLab and Campus des Métiers et des Qualifications (CMQ), BUILDERS coordinates and manages the creation of innovative teaching sequences on :
- Sustainable construction and energy rehabilitation
- New technologies applied to the construction industry
- The challenges of the circular economy and waste management
The FormLab system proposes a systemic approach combining :
- Building companies and public works (BTP)
- Organizations training
- Actors academic and territorial
The national low-carbon strategy, Energy renovation and improving the performance of buildings are major challenges for the sector today.
The construction sector must respond to these challenges with innovative solutions :
- Optimising the energy performance of new buildings
- Incorporating the principles of the circular economy
- Development of new design and production methods
With Law 2020-105 of 10 February 2020 on the fight against waste, the construction industry is accelerating its transition to more sustainable practices. FormLab is supporting this transformation by training industry players in the tools and methods of tomorrow's construction industry.
The FormLab project is funded as part of the Future investment programme (PIA), operated by Caisse des Dépôts (Banque des Territoires) and supported by the State and the Region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
