As part of the Fête de la Science, our engineering school was delighted to welcome several classes of secondary school students to its premises to discover the fascinating world of research and innovation.
A day of discovery and sharing
Throughout the day, our lecturers, doctoral students and staff ran interactive stands and educational workshops on a variety of themes:
The swell channel :
First, the students visited the swell channel, the only one of its kind in Europe. This 40-metre long channel is used to experiment with the impact of waves on coastal structures. This tool is available to engineering students at the school.
The drone
The students were then treated to a fascinating presentation on the drone. The speakers explained to the secondary school pupils the importance of this tool in environmental monitoring missions.
Galaadd workshop :
They were then able to join Galaadd A workshop focusing on educational innovation. The idea is to show secondary school pupils that it is possible to learn through play, with virtual and paper games.
Connected home
Finally, the students visited the school's laboratories, where they were shown a connected house incorporating artificial intelligence. This demonstration enabled them to understand the various possible applications of AI in sustainable construction.
Design BIM
Finally, the students had the opportunity to try out a modelling tool that allows them to create and visualise designs in several dimensions.
These hands-on workshops gave young visitors the chance to experience and understand science in a different way, in a friendly and stimulating atmosphere.
Inspiring vocations
By taking part in the Fête de la Science, our engineering school is confirming its commitment to promoting careers in engineering.
The aim is to inspire the younger generation to pursue studies in the fields of engineering, science and technology. research and innovation, and sustainable development.
An event not to be missed
The Fête de la Science is a not-to-be-missed event for our school. Every year, it is an opportunity to strengthen the links between the worlds of higher and secondary education.
In this way, our engineering school is positioning itself as a key player in education and innovation.
