The LIBAROT® project is the winner of the «Innovation Routes et Rues 2025" call for projects.

The project LIBAROT® Low-carbon binder for road infrastructure, launched in 2023 by Eiffage Route in partnership with our school, has just been selected as the winner of the «Innovations Route et Rues 2025» call for projects, launched by the French Ministry of Regional Planning and Decentralisation. This award marks an important milestone for an initiative that has gone from strength to strength since its launch.

Conceived as part of the 2015-2022 Seine Valley Interregional Plan Contract and supported by the region Ile-de-France and the’ADEME, The LIBAROT® project has enabled shellfish by-products to be reused in the formulation of concrete for road infrastructure and related components, giving the product developed environmental, technical and economic advantages.

The public works sector is one of the biggest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions and the consumption of natural resources, so it is essential to develop environmentally-friendly, sustainable alternatives that can reduce the carbon footprint while meeting society's needs.
